The Boundless Expeditions Staff

Shawn Small

Shawn Small

From an early age, Shawn decided that when he grew up, he would travel the world, explore the abundance of life’s mysteries and take any others along who were willing to join the journey.  At age 23, Shawn finally took his first out-of-the-country trip where he explored ancient ruins, ate scrumptious seafood on the Mediterranean, sipped tea with desert Bedouins, and visited the catacombs beneath the sprawling city of Rome.  Two years later, Shawn was leading trips people to indigenous tribes in the Guatemalan mountains, hiking through Alaskan rainforests to hidden glacier lakes, and entering ancient Celtic passage tombs in Ireland.  Shawn eventually unveiled Wonder Voyage Missions, a unique non-profit organization dedicated to leading seekers into the ancient and sacred sacrament of pilgrimage.  In 2009, he founded Boundless Expeditions, a travel company with a different set of ideas.  BE is the future for those who look at adventure travel as a chance to change the world. Shawn is a storyteller and author of two books.  He currently lives in Flower Mound, Texas with his vivacious wife and travel savvy children.

Ken Janke

Ken Janke

Over his years of travel, Ken has visited over 60 nations, leading groups on a whirlwind of expeditions to exotic destinations. Ken knows what it is like to sip tea in the great ruins of Persepolis, lead a toast at Marco Polo’s birthplace on the Island of Korčula, and enjoy a national hurling match in an obscure pub in the wilds of Ireland. Ken believes that each journey contains a hidden mystery which unlocks discovery with each teachable moment. He is the president of a non-profit organization called Groundworks (www.groundworksonline.com) that works with several social initiatives for change. Ken is also the Director for Boundless Expeditions “Journeys of Discovery” school trips. He lives in New Haven, CT with his wife of 21 years, Lori, and their four children.

Jason Wendel

Jason Wendel

The travel bug first bit Jason at the turn of the new millennium when he left the U.S. for the first time. He spent the summer in Ireland leading trips with Wonder Voyage. Since then, he has traveled to 20+ countries leading trips and creating his own expeditions. Although Jason owns his own successful web design company, Flying Donut Media, his greatest love is the excitement of traveling the world and serving those who are less fortunate.

Molly Wren

Molly Wren

After her first school trip to Mexico in 6th grade, Molly was intrigued by the experience of watching people in another culture live their daily lives.  Whether collected from an orphanage in Central America,  a café in Ireland, or the east Village in NYC the stories of people’s lives are Molly’s favorite ‘souvenirs’ from her travels.  Her naturally inquisitive mind, love of history, and passion for ethnic food combine to make cultural exploration one of her joys.  She joins the staff of Boundless Expeditions with a degree in History and Sociology and years of experience leading journeys. Molly lives in Dallas, TX with her husband of 20+ years, and Crockett, the Wonder Dog.
